T'was the Night Before Fitzmas

Twas the night before Fitzmas, and in the White House
Every one was scared shitless, and Bush was quite soused
The indictments were hanging like Damoceles’ sword
As verminous oxen prepared to be gored

The perps were all sleepless, curled fetal in bed
While visions of prison cells loomed in each head
And Dick in his jammies, and George in his lap
Were sweating and swearing and looking like crap

When out on the web there arose such a clatter
The blogs and the forums were buzzing with chatter
Away to the PC Rove ran like a flash
He booted his browser and cleared out his cache

The rumors that flew through the cold autumn air
Made Dubya shiver with angry despair
When what to his horror-filled eyes did he spy?
A bespectacled man with a brown suit and tie!

With an impartial manner that gave Bush the shits
He knew in a moment it must be St. Fitz!
With unwavering voice, his indictments they came
He cleared out his throat and he called them by name:

Now Scooter, Now Libby,
Now Blossoming Turd,
Now Cheney, dear Cheney,
Yes, you are the third
To the bench of the court
Up the steps, down the hall
Now come along, come along,
Come along, all!

He then became silent, and went right to work
He filed the indictments and turned with a jerk
And pointing his finger at justice’s scale
Said, “The people be served, and let fairness prevail.”

He then left the room, to his team gave a nod
And the sound could be heard of a crumbling facade
And we all did exclaim, as he faded from sight
“Merry Fitzmas to all, and to all a good night!”

I can’t get with the whole “Fritzmass” thing.
I’m not taking a run at anyone. These people are cruel and evil and deserve any torment we can bestow upon them.
What bothers me is all the talk about “the leak” or “Plame gate” surrounds the technicalities of laws.

People forget that this isn’t about perjury or obstruction of justice or even political partisanship.

The administration from the VP (at least) down compromised the nation’s security to discredit a whistleblower during the buildup to war.

There has never been an after-action report on this.
How many agents have been compromised?
How many sources?
How many people have been killed or gone missing in the field as a result?
What about the CIA front company that was tracking WMD proliferation?
Is that now an intelligence hole or has something else replaced it?

I hate this story being portrayed as “gotcha” partisan beltway politics.

Forget Valerie Plame. What about all the other people working for the company?
What about the people that dealt with the company as a source or even targets for investigations?

What about the people that died in Iraq because we refused to listen to whistleblowers because the talking heads on the TV said we can’t believe them.

This whole thing makes me sick.
It’s not Fritzmass its treason.
Please stop playing along.

Just like the failure of the administration after hurricane Katrina was branded “blame game” instead of “cronyism and incompetence”.

Keep your eye on the ball folks and don’t fall into the trap of making this a partisan issue by letting the neo-cons brand it.

Bob, I hear ya, though I can't help but get a little giddy about the whole "gotcha" aspect of it. These people have gotten away with everything since they stole the election in 2000. I want to see them go down any way they can, and if this ball starts rolling, words like treason will be flying all over the place. Considering the way these same people impeached Clinton over a blowjob, they don't have a leg to stand on talking about technicalities with this. We can throw back the same language, word for word right at them when they try to make excuses. And besides, isn't the idea of this criminal administration going down in flames as happy as Christmas morning?

The most disgusting thing about this administration is how they’re doing it in plain sight then denying it.
I want them to get what they deserve I just have a hard time enjoying it because it will take years and maybe generations to undo what they did in only 5 years.

My biggest complaint in all this is the branding and how it trivializes the real-life consequences of treason.

I have the same reaction when someone says “misrepresent” instead of lie.

I hope treason, impeachment, indictment and war crimes become part of our everyday lexicon.

"These people have gotten away with everything since they stole the election in 2000."

Now L.T they did not steal the election, it was given to them by the courts fair and square!

Laughing hysterically.........

Lets try to be better sports about this shall we.

Aw snoop, you don't actually expect us to agree on that, do you? I mean, come on! You've got to understand that there are many pissed off people who will never buy that the 2000 election was anything but stolen, and I'm definitely one of them. Nothing, and I mean NOTHING that anybody can ever say is going to convince me otherwise. I have suspicions about the last election too, but as far as I'm concerned 2000 was quite clearly a judicial coup if I've ever seen one.
