I actually saw that on TV. It was the scariest thing. The family who she stayed with were so cool and accomodating to her. They even went to church with her. But she would not listen to anything they had to say.

I promise, as someone who is religious.... that is not the "religious right"... that is a freak of nature.

I'm not necessarilly saying that *all* the religious right are like her, but all people like her are hardcore religious right! I have nothing against moderate religious folk, but people like this scare the bejesus out of me.

Religious Extremism is rampant :D

As "g" said... the same goes for Muslims. I wish more people realised that.

I wish they'd put some wingnuts of other religions on these shows. We see far too many christian wackos in the US and not enough of the others. I would say that religious extremism of all stripes is one of the biggest problems facing the world today.

Snoop, I'm betting you only won because you went against me!

This piece is absolutely freaking incredible. And painful. And sad. I couldn't even finish watching it.

However, LT, I just ask you to look at it in the same light as you posted on Snoop's blog. Think of this lady as "PETA of the right".

I'm not sure posting any more religions and their extremists is helpful, it would justify why people should be 'Christian' in some people's minds.. I'm from a religious minority, and turning mainstream people against minorities ain't helpful! ;-)

She, in no way, shape or form, represents the majority in this country... She's so far off the rocker that I think she could probably even scare Bush.

Snoop, look out man, you're going to lose that coveted last spot! Please feel free to post anything from here that you want.

Borak and James, I know that this lady is obviously extreme even amongst the lunatic fringe of the right, but how could I possibly resist making her the poster child for her slightly less wingnutty brethren?

Chandira, I think it's a good idea to show all sorts of wingnuts. You already hear these christians who play the victim act and claim that they're the only ones who are ever made fun of. Christianity certainly doesn't have a monopoly on crazies! I long for a day when it's OK to make fun of everyone again.

No, but I've heard he's hysterical.

He is hysterical, so long as one has thick skin, and truly makes fun of everyone. A little catharsis, I suppose, until the day that everyone can make fun of themselves as well as they can make fun of everyone else.

Pax.
