The Letterman Factor

Check this out: Bill O'Reilly being spanked by David Letterman, and not in the way Bill O'Reilly enjoys being spanked. Be sure to hear the guffaws from the audience when falafel-boy claims to not have any friends in the White House.

There's also a highlight reel at Salon which includes the beginning of the segment where Dave compares Bill's "War on Christmas" to people wanting to put diapers on horses. Good stuff!

To answer FOR Bill, since he's to blinded by his "what I'm supposed to say 24/7" list.

We are in Iraq because intelligence AT THE TIME, said it would be a good thing, to do what we did.

I feel that the removal of Sadaam was a GREAT thing for this world, and I hope he is punished for the life he lived at the expence and torture of his people.

NOW, Yes the intelligence from the CIA was faulty, and it is pathetic that it even WAS. We are in Iraq, and regardless of WHY we are there, we have to finish what we started.

I agree with his stance on Sheehan, I feel that anyone who can equate someone who murders women and children in order to attack our troops, with some sort of Freedom Fighter, is not in touch with reality.

I feel for her loss, I have not lost a loved on to armed combat so I cannot say that I feel her pain, but I have lost a brother at a young age and I can imagine what it would be like.

I feel that she IS being used as a front, by the extreme left, to further their cause against a President that they dispise, and a War they wish to pull out of.

That was great, I admire Letterman for trying to debate him.

I saw the whole thing live and then I went back over your video and re-watched it carefully. I'm definitely a Letterman fan, but I do believe O'Reilly made an excellent point at the end of the interview. How can Letterman criticize the O'Reilly Factor solely based on articles that he has read? Seems a bit unfair.

Letterman asks a good question in "why are we there in the first place," but hindsight is always 20/20. I believe a more effective question would have been "how do we win this debacle?"

I admire O'Reilly for guesting in an environment that is not "FOX Friendly" and I admire Letterman for having him on as well as carrying on an intelligent conversation as opposed to his usual comedic interviews.

Just my two cents.

Oh how I wish I had the energy today to debate this stuff, but my life is practically too busy to post, let alone debate. James, you'll have to just accept a "I understand a very small part of what you're saying but I disagree with the rest," and Arlen, you'll have to accept "I agree with slightly more of what you say than James, but I still disagree with much of it." I know, I'm lame, probably shouldn't even have a political blog if I don't have time to debate stuff, but that's just how it is for the time being. I don't know if I've mentioned before, but I've got a baby on the way.
